Guglielmo Ulrich Bed

Satinwood and amboyna bed by Guglielmo Ulrich Milanese Architect 1904 - 1977.

Italian, circa 1930s

Reference: IL mobile deco italiano. I. De Guttry M.P. Maino. Illustrations and text pages: 246 – 257. Translation: Ulrich is one of the protagonists in the story of Italian furniture of the 1930s . Gifted with an original and unmistakable style, and becoming a symbol of the taste of Milanese haute bourgeoisie, he has had no imitators, because the hallmark of his furniture, unique in simple and severe lines, consists essentially in the perfection of workmanship and the intrinsic worth of the materials used. Ulrich created furniture of a sober modern design with great zeal. It is characterized by contrasts in colour, the natural colours of the materials used. He made great use of leathers, rare woods (pear, cedar, zebra, palm) and new materials (mica, pristal, xantal, anticorodal).
